There are numerous companies that will sell you a home warranty plan.   A home warranty plan is essentially an insurance policy that can provide you with certain benefits should things go wrong with your home.  The exact features vary from company to company.   Most companies offer different types of plans that cover different items on the house and last for different periods of time.   The cost of a home warranty plan varies, but typically can run between $200 and $400 per policy.

If you sell your home, the home warranty policy will transfer to the new buyers.   This allows you to offer a nice benefit to a potential buyer.   It may be a way to increase the likelihood of your home being sold in a timely manner.
